The County Clerk is responsible for conducting all elections within Christian County including all Federal, State, County, City, School, Township, Village, Park and Library Districts as well as some Fire Districts. Am I Registered to Vote?

 

Interested in becoming an Election Judge?

To become an election judge, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States residing in Christian County and entitled to vote at the next election.  You may also become an election judge if you are a High School Junior/Senior in good standing or a student enrolled in a Christian County public school, community college or private secondary school. (High school Juniors/Seniors must have Parental/Principal consent to be assigned as an Election Judge.)
  • Of good repute and character.
  • Able to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Skilled and have good understanding in the four fundamental rules of arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in order to perform his/her duties.
  • Neither a candidate for any office at the election nor an elected precinct committeeperson.
  • Residing and be registered to vote in the precinct where selected to serve as judge.
  • Attend Election Judge training
  • Declare your political party

Hours for Election:

  • Election Judges will start their day at 5:00 am with polls opening at 6:00 am.  Polls close at 7:00 pm, however, the actual time you will be able to leave varies based on the amount of time the finalizing process takes. Election Judges are not allowed to leave the polling place at anytime through the day.

Compensation for Election Day:

  • Election Day $200.00
  • Mileage to training, pickup & return of ballots IRS mileage rate, currently .67/mile
  • Ballot Pick Up Judge $5.00
  • Ballot Return Driver $5.00
  • Ballot Return Passenger $5.00
